You ever have one of those moments where your body just slams on the brakes and says, “Nope, we’re done”? No warning, no grace, just a full-stop shutdown. A forced reset. Yeah, me too.
It happened to me recently when I was trying to get a room cleaned up. I thought I could keep going, just power through, because that’s what we do, right? But my body had other plans. And when your body decides it’s time to stop, you don’t get a say in the matter.
At first, I was frustrated. I still had half a room to finish and I really wanted to get it done. But lying there, forced into rest, I had to face the truth: I wasn’t listening. My body had been whispering for weeks—fatigue, brain fog, those little aches that turned into big ones—but I ignored it. And because I didn’t listen to the whispers, my body had to scream.
The lesson? We have to learn to listen before the crash. Our bodies will tell us what they need, but we have to slow down enough to hear it. It’s not about quitting, it’s about honoring our limits before they demand to be honored in the hardest way possible.
If you’re feeling that creeping exhaustion, the overwhelm building, the subtle hints that your body needs a break—take it.Don’t wait until life forces you into a reset. Give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and recalibrate.
Not sure where to start? My Reset & Refocus Workbook is a gentle guide to help you check in with yourself and build in the breaks before your body makes the choice for you. Because trust me, it’s a lot easier to reset on your terms.
