This year might not have gone to plan — but look at how much you’ve adapted.

If you’re listening to this, that means you’ve made it through another year of juggling your health, your relationships, your responsibilities, and probably a few curveballs you didn’t see coming.

Today’s episode isn’t about setting goals or resolutions.

It’s a cozy, honest check-in — a chance to breathe, reflect, and notice how your energy has shifted this year.

This will be the last episode of 2025.

Let’s start with honesty.

This year may have stretched you in ways you didn’t expect.

Maybe your body changed again.

Maybe you lost routines, friendships, or dreams you were hoping would stick.

Maybe you spent more time resting than doing — and part of you still feels guilty about that.

I get it.

But before we rush into a new year, I want you to hear this:

You don’t have to pretend this year was easy.

You just have to acknowledge that you kept showing up — even when you didn’t feel like it.

That’s strength. That’s growth.

Even if it didn’t look the way you thought it would.

We tend to measure growth by what we produced.

But for those of us living with chronic illness or fatigue, growth often looks more like:

  • Saying no before you crash.
  • Accepting help without apologizing.
  • Listening when your body whispers, instead of waiting until it screams.
  • Choosing peace over perfection.

You’ve learned things this year — about your energy, your limits, your resilience.

Maybe you’ve softened in some ways, or maybe you’ve gotten a little tougher.

Either way, you’ve evolved.

So take a breath and recognize that.

You didn’t stay stuck — you adapted.

If you want to pause and journal, here are a few prompts to help you check in:

🕯️ Energy:

What drained me this year?

What restored me?

Where did I spend energy that wasn’t aligned with what matters most?

🌷 Joy:

What moments — big or small — actually made me feel alive?

What brought me laughter, peace, or connection this year?

💛 Grace:

Where can I give myself more compassion?

What do I need to forgive myself for before stepping into a new year?

You don’t have to answer them all right now.

Just let one of them sit with you today.

Every year, we carry things forward — habits, hopes, even heaviness.

But before you turn the page on this one, ask yourself:

What do I want to carry with me into next year?

And what can I lovingly set down?

Maybe you want to carry peace, boundaries, or deeper self-trust.

Maybe you’re ready to set down guilt, comparison, or that old version of yourself who thought she had to do it all.

The truth is — you don’t need a brand new year to start over.

You just need permission to release what’s been weighing you down.

If you’re craving a little more structure for your reflection, I created something to help — it’s called the Rest & Refocus Workbook.

It’s a gentle guide that helps you look back without judgment and look forward with grace.

Inside, you’ll find prompts, journaling space, and practical tools to help you reset your energy for the new year — without pressure or perfection.

You can grab it at the-invisible-illness-club.kit.com or through the link in today’s show notes.

Because you don’t need a “new you.”

You just need a little rest… and a chance to refocus on what matters most.

Before we wrap up, I want you to take one more deep breath with me.

You’ve made it through a year of unknowns, of growth, of grace.

That’s something worth celebrating.

So as we move into December, let’s choose slower mornings, softer expectations, and gratitude for what already is.

Thanks for spending part of your year with me, friend.

I’m so proud of you for making it here.

And I can’t wait to walk with you into the next one. 💛
